SAN DIEGO & MEXICO CITY (May 4, 2023) – The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) announced that the historic 20th edition of the MexTour will kick off on Saturday, June 10, when the Mexican Men’s National Team takes on African powerhouse, Cameroon, at San Diego’s new Snapdragon Stadium.
Tickets go on sale Monday, May 8 at 10AM PT at snapdragonstadium.com.
Head Coach Diego Cocca, who will lead Mexico in his first MexTour match, will use the opportunity to fine-tune his squad ahead of the upcoming 2023 Concacaf Nations League Finals and 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup tournaments this summer.

This MexTour match will mark Mexico’s debut at San Diego’s new state-of-the-art Snapdragon Stadium, which opened in August 2022 with a seating capacity of approximately 35,000. Mexico last played in San Diego on March 22, 2019, at the now demolished Qualcomm Stadium, defeating Chile 3-1 in front of nearly 50,000 fans, with goals by Raul Jimenez, Hector Moreno, and Hirving Lozano.
Now in its 20th edition, Mexican National Team U.S. Tour matches have become one of the most popular sporting events in the U.S., with an average attendance of 60,000 fans per match in the last decade. Mexican National Team matches allow the team to prepare for important competitions like the FIFA World Cup and Concacaf Gold Cup, while reaching their fervent fan base across North America. A recent study by Equation Research identified 60 million fans of the Mexican National Team in the United States, making it one of the most followed sports teams in the country.
The 2023 Mexican National Team U.S. Tour, sponsored by adidas, AT&T, Bud Light, Crest, Expedia, Gillette Labs, Gran Centenario Tequila, La Verde Gas Station and Convenience Stores, The Home Depot, and Wells Fargo, will visit various cities across the United States in 2023 and be broadcast nationally on the TelevisaUnivision family of networks and Fútbol de Primera Radio Network.
